Welcome. My name is Lillie, I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor and therapist and member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I work with a diverse client group of young people aged 16+, adults and older adults. I have experience in many different areas (Inc Trauma) and therapeutic approaches which means, together, we can tailor therapy to fit your individual needs.
I have a lot of experience working with sexual abuse, incest and exploitation.
It is important that the relationship with your therapist is one of empathy and warmth, and that you feel comfortable.
The main therapies I use in my practice are
Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing: this is because I have seen how powerful these modalities can transform someones life when used together.
My background is in theatre which is where I first started seeing the impact creativity had on mental health and well-being. For this reason, I like to bring creativity and fun into my work. I love yoga and dance which fuels my interest in work with the body. Mindfulness
and meditation are tools I find helpful in assisting us living in the present. My other experience is:
Khiron Day Clinic Harley Street- Alongside Private Practice I work at Khiron Trauma Recovery Day clinic. Here I work 1 to 1 and hold group works including movement, lectures, process group etc. https://khironclinics.com/people/
NHS - I worked within the NHS as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor supporting people presenting with anxiety, depression, body image issues and eating disorders
Clini Q - I worked as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor for a trans and non-binary health and wellbeing service
Maytree - I volunteered for years supporting clients with suicidal ideation within a residential respite centre. Clients often presented with other issues such difficulty with relationships, anxiety, depression and trauma
Terrance Higgins Trust (Sex Workers in Sexual Health) - supporting a diverse range of clients working within the sex industry. Training included working with clients with HIV, Relationships, Sexual and Gender Diversity.
Crisis - supporting vulnerable women and people with addiction
Trauma can show up in lots of different ways. These may include depression, irritably, loss of interest, numbing, insomnia, emotional overwhelm, hopelessness about the future, shame and worthlessness, little or no memories, flashbacks and nightmares, hypervigilance, mistrust, panic attacks, anxiety (social/generalised), pain/migraines, eating disorders, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, dissociation or disconnection from the body, self-destructive behaviour and loss of a sense of who you are.
We can work together to help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
I also work with legacy and cultural burdens.
.
I have a wealth of expertise working with LGBTQAI+ clients, . I provide a safe affirming space. For some people this is how they identify but for others they would like a space in which to explore thoughts and feelings surrounding this. What does it mean for you?
I have worked with both younger clients as well as individuals coming out or wanting a deeper understanding or their identity later in life.
We are born into relationship. As small children, we use adaptations as a survival mechancism in order to get what we need. Often these patterns that were once effective start to become less so in adult life, but remain mostly unconscious. Maybe you are struggling to form deep, secure relationships? You may avoid intimacy but crave it deep down. You may give too much to others or struggle with boundaries? Perhaps an upsetting relationship has brought you to therapy in the first place? Or perhaps low self-esteem, anxiety and depression has brought you here?
Our therapeutic space is one where, together, we can empower you to explore and heal from these issues in order to start creating healthier relationships with yourself and others
